Setting: A rainy afternoon in East Vancouver. Water drums steadily on the pavement outside a converted warehouse studio. The three inventors stand under the open canopy of their prototype umbrella, its channels already trickling clean water into a collection jug at their feet. The city skyline is blurred behind sheets of rain.
Rihanna: Look at it go. East Van rain doesnโt play around, and this thingโs already filling the jug. Free water, right out of the sky.
BKenyan: And the shade it throws even when the sunโs not outโฆ you can feel it. People are gonna love this in the dry months too.
Joe Jukic: Exactly. Revelation 7 says it plain: โThey shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.โ
Thatโs what this umbrella is. Shade from the parching heat, and free water for anyone who needs it. No price tag on the rain.
Rihanna: (smiling as she watches the water stream into the jug) Youโre quoting scripture over a patent now? I like it. Still, business is business. How we splitting the profits?
Joe: Same as we talked. I take thirty-four percent. You and BKenyan thirty-three each. Clean numbers. No leftovers to fight about later.
BKenyan: Thirty-four for the man who just turned our invention into a Bible verse. Fair enough. The rainโs free, but the patent isnโt.
Rihanna: Deal. Just make sure when we launch this, people know the waterโs free and the shade is real. Thatโs the part that matters.
They stand together under the canopy as the rain keeps falling, the jug slowly filling at their feet.
